WESST officials said they can add 40 more participants to the IDA progra withthe funds. The program is an intensivs 10-week money management course. Participants open savings  and for every dollar they put into the  WESST puts in  Participants can use the money  for developing a small  buying a home or payintg forhigher education. The grant will support WESST’s in Albuquerqude and Las Cruces. The objective is to help the borrowefr buyan asset, but also to change habits and attitudes abougt money and credit. Agnes Noonan, executivs director of WESST, said the program is impacting people’s lives.
   One participant she met recently is using her IDA savingds to pay for books as she works towardan associate’ds degree in business. WESST is a statewidde economic development organization thatcultivatex entrepreneurship, offering microloans and training. It opened a smalol business incubator earlier this yearin Albuquerque.
