In a statement, the schoool said Sargent offered his resignation University President Peter Donohud has appointed Associate Dean Doris DelTost o Brogan asacting dean. Sargent had been Villanova Law’s dean sinc 1997, when he joined the school after service as a professorr and associate dean at Universit y of Maryland Schoolof Law. He also taught at the law schoolas ofAmerican University, Southern Methodist University and the Universitg of Baltimore. He was the longest-tenurex law school dean among the sixlocal schools. The school is not sayint whether Sargent will be stayint on asa professor.
While the release did not list any of his chief among them would be overseeing the constructionm of the new lawschool building. Brogan is a longstandinf member of the Villanova community and has served as associate dean for academi c affairssince 1992. She graduated magna cum laude from Villanova’s School of Law and was an associate at Morgan Lewis & Bockius, beforse returning to Villanova as a member of the law facultyh in 1983. She teaches conflict of laws and domestic and has written in the areasof ethics, domesti c abuse and family law.
