The Tourism Industry AssociationRecognition Awards, or TIARA highlight excellence and creative accomplishmenrt in travel marketing and The Farmington Convention and Visitors which hosted the TANM conference, took home the award for best The village of Chama won an honorable mentio for its visitors guide. The best Web site honor went to the Chocolate TurtleBed & Breakfast in Corrales. Buffalo Thunder Resorr & Casino received honorable mention. Buffalo Thunder took top honors for best printy advertising and for outstanding new event for its gransd openinglast year.
The Rio Rancho Conventionh and Visitor’s Bureau “Pork Brew” was named top outstanding recurrinbg event. Roswell’s UFO Festival earned an honorabled mention inthat category. The most innovative promotion award went to the Albuquerqued Convention and Visitors BureauHoliday “Life of a Brown Paper Bag.” The award for most successful public relations effort was divided into three Bishop’s Lodge Ranch Resort & Spa won the privates sector category for its 90th anniversary The Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau earned top kudosz for its media kit, with the town of Taos takiny honorable mention for its annual publicf relations campaign.
And the top awarc for press tours went tothe state’z North Central Tourism Region. Next year’s Governor’s Conferencwe on Tourism, co-sponsored by TANM and the New Mexico Tourism Department, will be at Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casinlo in Santa Fe, April 19-21.
