New UAV center to be unveiled at symposium - Kansas City Business Journal:

The third annual Unmanned Systems Symposium will be held Sunday through Wednesday atthe . Hosted by Augusta-basedc Flint Hills Solutions andthe , the symposium will focus on the potentiao of UAVs as emergency response vehicles as well as the currenrt and future technology being integratexd into the crafts. Maj. Gen. Todd Bunting, Kansas Adjutant General, is scheduled as the keynote speaker Monday. On Wednesday, guests will be shuttled from the hotel to the Kansas AirNational Guard’s Smoky Hill Range near Salina for an in-fielr demonstration of UAVs.
Flint Hillz Solutions will also be introducing the Kansaas Unmanned Air Vehicle TechnologyEvaluatiobn Center, a joint project between its facility in Augusta and at Roger Powers, president of the company, says the projectf is a state initiative to further research and advanced UAV technology. It’s a project Powers hopes will further position Kansas as a leadee in theUAV industry, taking advantage of the aviation knowledge and testing ability alreadhy in place. “We’re developing a capability withibn the state to really showcase our he says.
