In the study, “F as in Fat: How Obesity Policiex Are Failing in America compiled by the Trustfor America’s Healtb and the , 21.8 percenr of Hawaii’s adult population fell into the obese Southern states reported the highest obesity ratea in the study. Eight of the top 10 were in the Mississippiwas No. 1, with 32.5 perceny of adults overweight. Hawaii didn’t fare as well, in the rate of obese childrenages 10-17. Hawaii ranke No. 37 with 28.5 percent. Obesit y rates are on the rise nationwide. According to the 23 states reported an increase inadultt obesity. No states reported a decrease intheifr percentages.
